Field Trips

We offer educational elementary school field trips to fourth and fifth graders that will culminate in a gallery exhibition

at no cost.

These are scheduled on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. and will last approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. We are currently enrolling for May and June 2014.  Our gallery and teaching space can comfortably accommodate up to 20 students and their chaperones.  I encourage you to enroll now in our program as we anticipate our allocated time slots to fill rapidly.

Program Schedule

1) An introductory talk about our gallery’s art and artists will be provided to help students  look at art from a creative point-of-view.

2) Students will then have ample time to view and study the art.

3) A creative hands-on coloring activity will take place in our classroom where students will create a portion of a collaborative piece, unknowing that their piece is only a portion of a larger piece. Once done, we will assemble the finished product (image of a painting) to be returned back to school with the class.

4) Student’s will be sent to find their favorite painting and study the elements that attracted them. They will be encouraged to study color, shape and placement because they will return to the classroom to paint the elements they recall about their favorite painting.

5) Photos will be taken of each student with their painting in front of their inspirational piece.
