MARY BUERGIN

A native of Buffalo, NY, Mary Buergin received her degree in Fine Arts from Buffalo State College. She began her career working as an illustrator for an advertising agency in Buffalo and ran her own interior design company for over 10 years, doing both commercial and residential design. Mary moved to New Hampshire in 1992, and began her love affair with the New England landscape. Her focus is on creating representational landscapes, both in the studio and en plein air, that capture a sense of tranquility and intrigue. She has also been teaching pastel and oil painting for over fifteen years, helping students express their own personal vision of their art, while enforcing important rudiments of design, color theory and technique. She has also olaunched a successful web-based business, painting realistic and expressive dog portraits.
