BIO

Michael is living and working in Massachusetts. He has been a treasurer and senior financial professional in the non-profit sector until his retirement. He continues to provide consultative services to small organizations in the arts, cultural and historical settings.

He began painting in 2000, taking lessons and workshops with local artists, and through art schools and art associations. Until recently, he was a principal artist in the Saltbox Gallery; an artists’ cooperative with a 35-year history in Massachusetts’ North Shore and Cape Ann areas. 


“My work focuses on New England’s rich and divergent landscape. My goal is to put the viewer into the painting and to share my experience of place and atmosphere. Working in oils provides opportunities for an expansive full color palette or the subtle tonal themes which help me present the mountains, seas, marshes, and farmlands of the region.”
