BIO

After moving to Maine, Babak was fortunate to build her perfect studio with an abundance of natural light.  Being surrounded by woods and water provides constant inspiration. She loves visiting cities but the creative process always remains someplace where she can be closer to nature.

Growing up in the city Olena was lucky to attend an art school during her teenage formative years and continue with her studies in adulthood at a private school in NC where sheI was able to concentrate on the principles of drawing and painting. 

“I strive to find movement in my paintings, starting with light, water, boats or people.  I find that movement, light and emotion are important keys to a successful painting.  I was fortunate to draw a lot and develop my drawing skills early on to allow myself to explore different subjects.  It is the beauty that fascinates me first not the subject itself.  All though I find myself painting a lot of times close by the water and under the open skies.”
